A Day at Bushkill Falls
My husband and I recently spent part of the day hiking at Bushkill Falls, often called the “Niagara of Pennsylvania,” and it really is a beautiful place to spend a day outdoors.
There are eight waterfalls throughout the park and four trails to choose from, depending on how much hiking you want to do. The trails are beautifully maintained, with boardwalks, bridges, and plenty of stairs along the way.
While the trails vary in length and hiking time, there’s really no need to rush. There are plenty of places to stop, sit for a while, and simply enjoy the scenery.
Bushkill Falls is a privately owned attraction, so there is an admission fee. Current general admission is $24 for adults, $22 for seniors 62+ and active military, $12 for children ages 4–10, and children 3 and under are free. Parking is included with admission. If you live locally with a Pennsylvania ZIP code beginning in 183, there is also a special $10 weekday local admission rate with proper ID. Prices are always worth checking before you go, since they can change.
Before or after your hike, there are several small shops near the trail entrance where you can browse Bushkill Falls souvenirs, hiking apparel, nature-themed gifts, rocks and minerals, and even fudge.
If you’re looking for a day surrounded by waterfalls, woods, and fresh air, Bushkill Falls is definitely worth exploring.
